Greenock Creek Casey’s Block 2016
In the words of Philip White:
“It has the shades that remind me of British racing green and big radiata pine trees, with ravens and juniper. That big chunky bark. You know those smells. Then come the grapes. Extracted, intense, fully skwoze. Dark as. Sinuous. Lissom. Fit. Currants. Coke: not so much the drink, but the stuff blacksmiths fan on the forge. Like that acrid nose-prickling whangsplat of hammer on white hot billet and anvil. Cinnamon and nutmeg; maybe clove. Wrapped in a rich blackberry jam; a blackcurrant jelly. With thick fresh whipped cream. Toasted raisin bread Sorry to confuse you. But brash, audacious wines of such presumption and promise confuse, and better, bedazzle me. I stare in awe at their tatts”.

Jean-Marc Burgaud Beaujolais Villages Les Vignes de Lantignié 2017
There is beauty in Beaujolais. Literally. Beau means beautiful in French. This drop is an awesome wine to enjoy with an array of food; from platters to Pho (Glenda we love you). All the juiciness Gamay has to offer, some depth and complexity due to its specific growing condition in the Morgon Village.
Bird in Hand Two In the bush Chardonnay 2018
We like them big, we like them chunky..
we like them big, we like them plumpy..
We like them round with something something..
A great value for money old school style Chardonnay; beware of its sexy creaminess.
Leonildo Pieropan Soave Classico 2018
It is definitively Carbonara weather and Soave is the perfect pairing wine! Pieropan produces a textbook example of what the appellation is about. Usually made from Garganega grapes, sometimes blended with some Trebbiano di Soave; it is fairly neutral and yet you will find lovely notes of white flower, almond blossom and citrus, supported by vibrant acidity and some palate weight.
Bass Phillip Crown Prince Pinot Noir 2017
Crushed roses and light red cherries nose followed by bright strawberry on the palate with subtle notes of wild cherry. Another great release of Crown Prince which will drink beautifully now or can be put down for a few years.
