Aussie Hop PSA! Four new dank and delicious hop bombs have dropped this week at Decanters by the Bay. An exciting new Hazy IPA from the Footscray army of Hop Nation, a WCIPA (West Coast IPA) that will put some dimples on your face from the smiling crew at Balter, a Pale Ale from the far westerners of BeerFarm and finally put on your flannel shirts to welcome a collab brew from Bad Sheperd and Waynard.

Hop Nation ‘Seven Clouds’ Hazy IPA

Seven Clouds is an IPA full of Taiheke, Motueka and Nelson Sauvin hops from the “Land of the Long White Cloud”. Similar to some of NZ’s most famous wines this double dry-hopped IPA has very unique herbaceous, zesty, and gooseberry notes, showing off fresh and floral characters. Have you ever imagine what clouds would feel and taste like? We reckon it would be similar to this beer with its creamy mouthfeel and texture (coming from the oat use and lactose addition). #pillowy

Balter ‘Dimples’ WCIPA

A new limited release of Balter always puts a smile on our faces. Part of their experimental IPA series; Dimples is a modern craft take on WCIPA, with a haze to it! Balter explains their new grin as followed:

“It’s fun to get freaky and experiment a little. We’re not talking fluffy handcuffs, we’re talking this twist on a West Coast IPA with America’s Bale Breaker Brewery and Yakima Chief Hops. Dimples is made with a hop (HBC630) not widely used in Oz, showing orange sherbert and pink musk aromas, floral citrus flavours, and a shimmering malt backbone for a glossy finish. Open your mind, and your mouth, to the excitement of a refreshed classic.

BeerFarm Pale Ale

Have you ever looked at a beer fridge and think: I just want a damn Pale Ale? This ultra quaffable new brew coming all the way from Metricup (WA) is an ode to quality flavoursome Pale Ales. The new venture for BeerFarm resulted in a slight malt-based and packed with US El Dorado hop Pale that hopefully, you will like as much as us! Cheers

Bad Shepherd x Wayward ‘Lumberjack’ Canadian IPA

Apologies in advance for saying Maynard to everyone instead of Wayward, looks like we just got a bit Tool obsessed after last week’s gigs. This new collaboration between Bad Shepherd and Wayward is a direct flight to Toronto. The Canadian malts and use of spruce tips create truly unique pine and spice aromas. Tastes better if you wear a flannel shirt, pair it with pancakes whilst blasting Alanis Morissette.

Are you salivating yet?! Because we certainly are. We also have many more in-store from Hop Nation, Balter, BeerFarm and Bad Shepherd, don’t hesitate to contact us and/or come show us your dimples!

Frothy regards, VKL
